7 Goals to accomplish in 2018

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone! I can’t believe how fast this year went by. I don’t know about you guys but 2017 definitely had its ups and downs. On the good side, I got a new job this summer that I really enjoy and I got an internship this past fall semester.

As 2018 approaches, I’ll be finishing up my last semester in college and thrown out into the real world. I don’t really have any set plans after graduation but I’m hopeful for 2018 and the opportunities it may bring. I sat down this week and I’ve made a set of goals that I would like to achieve and hopefully accomplish in 2018.

This is my number one goal. I have so many places on my bucket list that I would like to visit. My goal for this year is to go somewhere new and try to go somewhere at least once a year. I really want to go to Spain but if I have to I will pick somewhere in the Caribbean or visit my cousins out in Vegas.

Draw more

The past few months I’ve been teaching myself how to use photoshop. It’s inspired me to start drawing again and get into graphic design. I’ve even turned some of my illustrations into stickers. I may even try to sell them after I get a few more illustration under my belt.  I even helped design a logo for my school’s surf club and we’re getting tee shirts made. Blog More

My goal for 2018 is to step up my game and blog more. While I’m on break I will be outing out some more post. My one-year anniversary is coming up. I’m thinking of doing an upgrade for this site. I’m trying to monetize this site hopefully within the next few months.

Get better at surfing

Surfing is my favorite form of exercising. It’s a little too cold for me right now to go surfing but when spring comes back around I will be out in the water improving my surfing. My goal is to take a surfing trip to the Caribbean or to South America. I want to get better so I can keep up with my friends who are way better than I am.

Spend more time with loved ones

2018 I will spend more time with my friends and family because once I graduate college I probably won’t see a lot of people I normally see on daily basis. I learned in my happiness class that strong bonds improve happiness and that we should constantly be active in relationship maintenance. Who knows some connections can probably help me get a job in the future. Plus having friends in other places gives me an excuse to travel and visit them!

Be More mindful

Being mindful is apart of self-care. It helps me stay focus and worry about the now and not the future. Because in the next few months I’ll probably go through an existential crisis on what I’m going to with the rest of my life.

I’m also trying to use my phone less which may be hard since I use it for almost everything. A habit I need to kick is using my phone before I go to bed and using it to wake up in the morning.

Budget better

If I want to travel more, I will need to make better spending habits. Which means I need to stop buying clothes I don’t need and stop eating out too much. I’d rather spend my money on experiences than material objects. Normally I write down my budget, but I may download one of those budgeting apps.
